Voter Information Network and Education – Africa (VINE – Africa) is a non-profit and non-partisan civil society organization registered in Kenya that focuses on governance.
About Us
The 2010 constitution of Kenya mandates the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to conduct and supervise Voter Education.
It is on this note that the commission is mandated to partner with other Civic Education Providers such as VINE -AFRICA to fulfill this mission.
As such we are accredited by the IEBC as a Voter Education Provider. In order to inform better the delivery of voter education, VINE -AFRICA also gets accreditation by the IEBC and undertakes monitoring/ observation of electoral activities. Among others, 2016 Mass Voter Registration exercise, 2017 general elections, 2022 Mass Voter Registration exercise, 2022 IEBC Youth Voter Education project, IEBC Annual Voter Education Week (AVEW) and 2022 general elections.
Public Participation is a governance principle that is greatly emphasized by the constitution of Kenya 2010.
We continuously work with individuals, groups and organizations towards strengthening citizen participation in various fora such as Elimu Yetu Coalition (EYC), Annual People’s Dialogue Festival (PDF) by the Center for Multiparty Democracy (CMD) and constituency based VINE -AFRICA Youth Leagues among others.
Our activities are spread out across 28 counties and we intend to expand our work across the entire country.
As a way of learning and sharing knowledge, we also follow closely electoral and governance activities in other jurisdictions.

Focus Areas
Since its inception in 2015, VINE-Africa has been accredited by IEBC as an Election Observation Group and has observed Homa bay and Kericho Senatorial by-elections, Kajiado Central, Kabete, and Malindi Constituency by-elections and several County Assembly Wards elections.
We are currently undertaking a voter education and awareness campaign programmes in 28 Counties in Kenya.
